Due to our long-standing commitment to provide services in spite of one’s ability to pay, Hospice of Montezuma depends upon donations, gifts, and sponsorships to survive. As a non-profit organization, our services are NOT fully funded by Federal or State reimbursement programs, but they represent major components of the mission of the organization, so we appeal to the community to assist us in covering the shortages.
In recent years, Medicare funding – which represents about 85% of our revenue – has been reduced, making it difficult to continue services at the high level for which we are known. Our Bereavement program, that serves anyone who may be experiencing grief or loss throughout Montezuma and Dolores Counties, depends upon grants and donations to survive.
Ways to Give
Hospice provides many options for community support, including the ability to pay tribute to a lost loved one. Online donations can be made individually or on a regular basis, such as monthly or yearly.
In order to ensure ongoing services, we also have to ability to process larger gifts, such as:
- One-time personal/family gifts
- Corporate gifts
- Matching gifts
- Annual gifts
- Estate donations
- Planned giving
- Sponsorship of events
If you would like to help with a specific need that the organization has, our goals for the coming year are to:
- Create an area to clean and sanitize medical equipment in order to repurpose.
- Purchase new computers to replace older computers that no longer support required hospice care software upgrades.
- Purchase a new Sonic Firewall to protect our electronic medical records from attack. Our current system is 10 years old and expires this year.
